The Cooperative Remote Sensing Science and Technology Center (CREST), established in October 2001, has refined its research, education and outreach activities over the last ten years to align them with the goals and visions of NOAA and the EPP. From its inception, CREST has been based on a broad partnership of academic, private sector,and NOAA agency affiliates.
NOAA-CREST research is focused along four broadly based and interconnected themes:
-Climate
-Weather and Atmosphere
-Water Resources and Land Processes
-Ocean and Coastal Waters
which are in line with NOAA goals in the areas of Climate Adaption and Mitigation, Weather Ready Nation, Resilient Coastal Communities and Economies, and Healthy Oceans.
